North Mayo Heritage Centre is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of the region.
The Family History Research Unit works clients world wide who are keen to trace their roots from Mayo.
The Centre hosts touring exhibitions from National and Local cultural institutions throughout the year.
The North Mayo Heritage Centre Museum contains many original domestic and agricultural artifacts from Mayo.
The North Mayo Heritage Centre is located on the grounds of Enniscoe House. The centre houses the North Mayo Family History Centre, which provides genealogical research for parishes in the northern part of Co. Mayo.
The centre is a not for profit enterprise which provides local employment. By visiting our centre or using our research services, you are helping the local economy.
North Mayo Heritage Centre & Community Employment:
County genealogy centers have provided employment in their communities for over 30 years. Our centre has both full and part time staff. We also provide placements for individuals participating in Pobal programmes and FÁS training schemes (Community Response, Local Training Initiative, Community Employment).
The board of directors of our centre and of the Irish Family History Foundation act in a voluntary capacity.
