The Family History Research Unit at the North Mayo Heritage and Genealogical Centre is the premier resource for genealogical research in the north County Mayo, Ireland.

The Family History Research Unit works with clients world wide who are keen to trace their roots from Mayo.

The centre has compiled a complete database of all the major genealogical resources relating to North Mayo, most of which are not available online. The database contains over a million records.

Records for the remaining parishes of Co. Mayo are held at the South Mayo Family History Centre in Ballinrobe.

Initial Assessment

This service is available both to callers to the centre and online enquirers.

Preliminary research is carried out on behalf of clients to determine what level of information might be available.

Initial Report

Once a Preliminary Assessment has been undertaken, research can be done on an individual or family to the point of Emigration.


Family History Report

A full Family History Report can be prepared and presented as a bound document. Research can include information from abroad if available. Library binding is available for final presentation and multiple copies can be provided.
