Our story

The North Mayo Heritage Centre is located on the grounds of Enniscoe House. The centre houses the Family History Unit which provides genealogical research for parishes in the northern part of Co. Mayo.
The centre is a not for profit enterprise which provides local employment. By visiting our centre or using our research services, you are helping the local economy.

North Mayo Heritage Centre & Community Employment:
County genealogy centres have provided employment in their communities for over 30 years. Our centre has both full and part time staff. We also provide placements for individuals participating in Pobal programmes and SOLAS training schemes (Community Enterprise, Rural Social Scheme and TUS).
The board of directors of our centre and of the Irish Family History Foundation act in a voluntary capacity.
