Become a Friend of the North Mayo Heritage Centre

The Friends of the North Mayo Heritage Centre was established in 2022 to support the work of the centre and its core mission of preserving and promoting the rich heritage of the region. Today this diverse group comprises our most loyal supporters who continue to greatly enhance the life of the centre.

Friends enjoy many benefits, including discounts and special invitations to North Mayo Heritage Centre events throughout the year. Friends have access to an unparalleled programme of events including guided exhibition talks and cultural tours with members of staff.

What our Friends mean to us...

The vital funds generated by the Friends of the North Mayo Heritage Centre provide essential support to, facilitating the production of our ambitious exhibition schedule, the presentation of unique and interactive educational programmes and the continuous upgrading of facilities.

Your support enables:

  • The ongoing work of digitisation of genealogical records from North Mayo

  • Provision of research services to the Mayo diaspora at home and abroad

  • The delivery of an annual cultural programme of exhibitions, talks and events

  • Job creation for this rural and regional community

  • Educational support to local primary, post primary and third level educators

  • Continual upgrading of the centre's facilities

How the Friends scheme works...

When you become a friend of the North Mayo Heritage Centre you pay an annual membership fee which entitles you to a range of benefits. There are three levels of friendship available to our local supporters, detailed below.  Membership is renewed annually, in January.  All Friends receive a membership card.

All Friends will receive invitations to the opening of new exhibitions, and the Annual Friends Garden Party.  Additional benefits for the different levels are:

Individual Friend - €30

  • One free book from our selection

  • 10% off organic produce or 1 free vegetable box

  • 10% discount on entry to the Annual Heritage Day event

Family Friend - €75

  • Two free books from our selection

  • 10% off organic produce or 1 free vegetable box

  • One free child entry to each of our major family events

  • 10% discount on entry to the Annual Heritage Day event

Patron - €150

  • Two free books from our selection

  • 10% off organic produce or 1 free vegetable box

  • One free entry to the garden per season, for up to 2 adults

  • One free child entry to each of our major family events

  • 10% discount on entry to the Annual Heritage Day event

  • 10% discount off Family History Research

  • FREE History of your Surname (unframed)

  • Invitation to the annual Heritage Centre / Enniscoe dinner (@€50 pp)

Subscription to the Friends of the North Mayo Heritage Centre is on an annual basis, renewable on the first day of the month in which subscription was originally purchased.  We will contact you prior to this date, to request renewal of your subscription.  You may contact us at any time to advise us whether you wish to resubscribe at the end of your current subscription year.

 

The North Mayo Heritage Centre will keep your details for the purposes of administration of the Friends of the North Mayo Heritage Centre.  We will not share your details with any other party without seeking prior consent.
